The 'Men at Work 2008' calendar produced by Mount Productions was launched in aid of Breast Cancer Support Gibraltar.

'When we were shooting the ladies calendar last year we had some willing male volunteers,' said Mark Montovio who shot the Bosom Buddies 2007 Calendar for Sonia Golt. 'It seemed like an opportunity not to be missed and after some thought on the way forward twelve young men from different professions volunteered.'

'All of us are touched or will be touched by cancer at some point in our life,' added Mark. 'Those of us with relatives and close friends diagnosed with the disease, or those of us who are struggling with the illness, know the emotional roller coaster that this involves from the minute the doctor shares the news...

The fear, the uncertainty, the pain and the despair can be so overwhelming that quality of life is lost and we are unable to see beyond the moment and we lose our focus. Advances in medicine have made the difference to many patients and survival rates have rocketed. So there is life after cancer ... and many people have used the experience to turn their life around.

This calendar wants to celebrate life at the same time as it creates awareness and raises funds. Sons, brothers, friends and anyone else who thought supporting the cause was important stood proudly for the camera.

Those who thought that the message of hope, and early detection had to be shared, knew they could not say no.'
